Past Rhino Projects

Quack

One of my first Rhino Projects of the year was to make a rubber duck and have it swim around in a pond. It was difficult becuase it was the first time this year that I used Bongo to animate anything. This project was also the first time I had used control points to form organic shapes which I had to use for the duck's body.

MasterLock

The next project that I did with animation was the master lock. The assignment was to create a combonation lock then use Bongo to show how it opened. I used new commands like UV Curves which made it easier to add the number and tickmarks right on the dial.

 Jack-in-the-Box

The Jack-in-the-Box was my next Rhino project after the rubber duck assignment. Creating the object was the easy part, the difficult part was using Bongo with new commands like Parent/children relationships and creating blocks. One challenge I did face in Rhino was making the volleyball that pops out of the box. My original plan was to project curves onto the ball, pipe the curves, then use boolean difference to create the grooves. After I had tried several times the boolean difference didn't work so I had to render the pipes in a dark color to give the appearance of grooves.

Pencil Writing

This was another project that I completed really quickly. It was creating a pencil in rhino and have it write my name. The difficult part was breaking up my name into small enough pieces that it flowed evenly. The animation still wasn't perfect but the writing was somewhat smooth.
