Kitchen

My Latest Rhino Project

This is a perspective view of my kitchen which has been my project for most of term three and term four. It took a lot of detail and I'm always thinking of new things to add to it.  Even though you can't see it very well in this picture, the sink and the window were some of the toughest objects.

Oven

The oven was the first piece I created for this project. Originally I was going to make a regular oven with a stove on top but then I changed my mind and decided to make it a double oven and put a built in stove top on a center island. To make the handles I had find a new command. I used Curve Network for the large handle and it was difficult to figure out exactly how to use  it. The one handle I made was used not only on the oven but on the doors to the refridgerator.

Renders

These are some other renders of objects in the kitchen. It was difficult to create the sink because it also includes the drain and the faucet. The cabinets were the easiest part because once I made one door I could scale it to the right size to be used throughout the kitchen along with the handles. The most recent part of the kitchen is the island in the middle with the bar and stools on one side. I an working on a microwave that will hang uncerneath the top row of cabinets and I am going to make a flat stove top to go on the center island.

New Project

I have been working with the kitchen for almost an entire term and I'm going to take a break and start a new project. I am going to make a human skeleton in Rhino and try to make is as accurate as possible and then animate it once it is complete. I have already started looking at different pictures online that will give me the best view of the skeleton. I think the most difficult part will be the skull and I think I will have to use new commands like patch and mesh to get the right shape.

Skeleton

I hadn't realized how difficult this project was going to be until I started it. I have never worked with meshes before so I was constantly discovering new commands. It felt like after every section I completed, I found an easier and more effective way I could have done it. One reason the project takes so much time was that meshes have so many control points. It is good because it allows more fredom to create an object but it takes much longer to change all of them. This is a picture of the very beginning of the skull. I found that becuase the project is so extensive, I won't finish it this year. I have decided to just focus on the skull for now.
